Reading Recommendation:
Agreed. Current year Marvel is garbage. This would be amazing and make the character incredibly interesting. Them trying to play game of thrones with the character is alright, but its lacking depth.
This is an amazing take on the character. In addition, this character is a WAAAAAAAY more interesting 'Captain Marvel' than Carol Danvers. Even if you lean into the 'checked boxes' somewhat, since that's so en vogue, but also power wise, background, etc.
'He was a space prince hidden away, raised on Earth to be a bastion of peace between two kingdoms that have warred for generations. When called to duty he did no shirk it- and inherited his father's mantle and all the power it grants to protect the universe from threats of all kinds cosmic!'
You've got massive Superman overtones here, not to mention interesting powers & a grand stage to show of the cosmic side of Marvel (which is honestly where it shined brightest).
